The NFL looked at him and it would be obvious that Forrest was not coachable. That time any marginal player was a hot property especially with the advent of the AFL. The drafts for both leagues ran much deeper than the draft runs today and Forrest presumably went undrafted. So pro football looked at him and passed on him long before graduation day.
