Even though vampire novels are usually romantic, there are some which can be pure horror or dramatic or both, like Bram Stoker's Dracula and GRRM's vampire novel, Fevre Dream. Yes, the same author who wrote Game of Thrones series. Have you read<br />
Thirst<br />
series, by Christopher Pike? The first two novels are basically three short novels in one, while the last three novels are single.<br />
Personally, I do think Anne Rice do enjoy Gothic. Many of her novels are apparently Gothic in theme. I have The Wolf Gift, which I haven't read yet. It was given to me for my birthday several years ago.<br />
