it was them and their daughter, they raised her and that was in the 1700s so they were the first and you could say they were pioneers. they had to be first so other people could do that later.

I don't really see how you arrived to that conclusion. The movie never didn't show how Lestat and Luis explained to the public about Claudia.
I guessed that they were pretending to be siblings in public. In private, Lestat treated Claudia as his pet and Luis treated Claudia like she was a member of his family.
I don't think your question was ever explained in the novel.
