I found this on Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sympathy_for_the_Devil
Guns N' Roses version
Guns N' Roses recorded a cover in 1994 which reached No.55 on the Billboard Hot 100; it was featured in the closing credits of Neil Jordan's film adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire (
except the 4K cut of the film
) and was included on their Greatest Hits album. This cover is notable for causing an incident involving incoming guitarist, Paul "Huge" Tobias, that was partially responsible for guitarist Slash departing from the band in 1996. Slash has described the Guns N' Roses version of the song as "the sound of the band breaking up".
Does anybody own the 4K release of IWTV to confirm if Guns N' Roses cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" is not played during the closing credits of that release of the film? I think it is the normal or the 20th anniversary Blu-Ray release which has this song replaced due to copyright reasons but I'm not sure.

I think they'll release a 4K remaster when Anne Rice finally debuts her Vampire Chronicles series. Which should be coming out next year sometime. Which will obviously breathe new life into the film.
Regarding your original question, I've just checked the 20th Anniversary Edition on blu-ray and the Guns & Roses cover is still included. Hope that helps.

A 4K release would be nice if they did a Blu-Ray re-release in 2019 for the 25th anniversary of the film.
As for my original question, does anybody own any of the two Blu-Ray releases I mentioned of IWTV (the normal release or the 20th anniversary edition released in 2014) to confirm if Guns N' Roses cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" isn't played during the closing credits?

There is no 4K release as of yet. I wouldn't be surprised if one was in the works though.
