OK, I know there are other movies that have a lot more than this, but I thought it was really pathetic when Arnold took that little dog outside in the rain to give his partner his wife's purse to bug, and on the way across the street, he was kicking the dog to make it move faster.
Here's this giant of a man with a tiny little dog at the end of a leash, and the man is abusing a poor little dog. Why didn't he just pick up the dog and carry it?
What a putz!

For as loving, loyal, fun and just generally awesome as dogs are, they're dumb as f^ck. They're just as happy to walk around all day smelling everything, but humans don't have time for that $hit, so you use various methods to get things moving. Anyone who has ever walked a dog on a leash has tugged on it, and nudged the dog with a foot to get them moving when necessary. It's not cruelty. It's practicality.

He gave a tug on the leash. Good God! It's not like he drop kicked the dog over his house! Report the movie company to PETA!

Yes, he jerked the horses head towards him by the reins when he said "look at me when I'm talking to you".which can cut up a horses mouth.
And yes, he was jerking the little dog by the leash a few times as he walked across the street. It was all unnecessary.

You really should fix your signature line. It's "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'."
Rewatch the movie if you don't believe me or better yet you can probably find the scene on YouTube.
You can't handle the truth!

I liked this movie, but I was appalled at the animal cruelty as well. He was tugging and kicking that poor little dog across the street, and as another poster mentioned, smashing Dobermans together and berating a horse.

Yes it's a work of fiction but he was really tugging on that leash and dragging the poor dog. Yes it was played for comedy but I'm not sure the dog felt the same way.
And I wonder how they did that scene where he smashed the dogs heads together.

He wasn't kicking it. He was pulling on the leash, which sometimes you have to do in the rain, epically if they won't go out in the rain but have a history of peeing/pooping in the house when kept inside for too long.
