The Drew Carey Show has been quietly added to Plex where it's streaming for free. All nine seasons are included and the only real caveat is that it's ad-supported streaming. A total of 233 episodes were produced for the show from when it first debuted on Sept. 13, 1995, until it ended its run on Sept. 8, 2004.
Two decades later, the show could potentially see a resurgence in popularity with its newfound availability on Plex. Carey recently teased that the show would soon start streaming, sharing his hopes that this would help The Drew Carey Show reach new fans in the way other sitcoms like The Office only grew further in popularity on streaming years after ending on television.
“It’s not in syndication … because of music rights and stuff. We’re going to try to change that around and get it back out there,” Carey told TV Insider. "It’s pretty funny, and a lot of it’s kind of timeless. It was weird, [too]. [The cast and creators] were all Mad Magazine fans and stuff, so we weren’t afraid to go bananas.”
