He's a hell of a fine actor. Not sure why he's not recognized as much as he should be. I've liked him since day one, especially in The Onion Field. Heartbreaking.

I thought that I was seeing things. Did John Savagae just appear at the beginning and never again in the film or did I miss him somewhere in the film?

Very powerful cameo by John Savage. I was expecting his character to return later to the film, but I'm grateful for the little nugget he gives us. He's a terrific actor who hasn't gotten the attention he deserves for several decades now, if ever.
