i didn't like it either, the music was supposed to establish the atmosphere of the movie, but it didn't work for me
instead of pulling me in, it kept pushing me out, it was kind of a distraction
i did like the cinematography and the laid back tone of the movie though, so it wasn't all bad 5/10
so many movies, so little time

Stereotyping much? A) how do you know what generation he is from? B) Who decides the borders of a generation? C) Blanketing a time period that people grew up in and branding them screwed up is kinda ignorant. and D) CGI doesn't make a film bore less, it's totally dependant on people's interests whether or not something is boring. I thought it was pretty boring too, probably because there was nothing driving William after he lost his job, so it felt super aimless and with nothing to look forward to it's easy to get bored.

At least you're not calling everyone who like these kind of films 'pretentious hipsters'. I'm one of those who rattle my brains little bit more while watching a movie. It entertains me. I feel entertained if I get something that tickles my mind - not only movies, but also books, music, paintings. For each their own, it's called taste (or not having a taste as it is in some extreme measures). I was disappointed after watching Inception - everyone were praising how deep and mind F this films was, and afterwards I was like 'it was good film, but not much mind F-d'.
And finally there are films that you just love - they might not be some special masterpieces, but you like them for whatever unknown reasons.

Agree with you too Frank_Z, some brains, like mine aren't capable of understanding some form of art, like this movie we are talking about here. I didn't understand the movie Enemy too, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, kept thinking it would all make sense at the end, like Inception, but it didn't, and the spider made it even more difficult. So I have nothing against these kind of movies, they certainly appeal to a good part of audience I am sure, just not me. Not everything turns out the way you hope or expect.

Some art is just for entertainment. Some makes you think. To each his own.

Well, I have seen old movies, I have seen westerns too, and I liked both kinds, but what I don't like is if I have to try too hard to understand the movie. So I agree with you flaberis2, bleh + 1.
