I disagree, I actually think that the First Movie is the Best.

This is the only Die Hard sequel I like. But no it's not better than the original. At least not to me.

I can’t. With A Vengeance is fantastic but on balance I prefer Die Hard 2.
WAV has McTiernan’s slick style and wit, but it lacks the single location claustrophobia and sense of ‘a situation’ escalating, it’s more scattered and roughshod and the ending is weak (they reshot it, the original was even worse), DH2 possibly has the best ending of the series when McClane roasts all the villains onboard their 747 with a casual swipe of his cigarette lighter.
They’re probably about equal as films, both are great, but I just prefer Die Harder.

It's damn entertaining. Hard to say if it's better than the first, they're just both so good. Either way we can all agree it's better than the 2nd.
