I guess the OP is referring to the style and dialog of this movie being Tarantinoish.<br />
Interesting fact: Travolta was going to pass on this role but Tarantino (who had just directed him in Pulp Fiction) advised him to take it.</p>

Get Shorty is a parody of criminal elements involved in the film industry.  It's technically a good film, but for the uninformed, like my ex-girlfriend, it's almost a documentary.  And for anyone who thinks that any element in Get Shorty is a serious portrayal of the film industry, then you're living in a dream world, and may need professional help.<br />
Better than Tarantino's work?  No.  Different genres altogether.</p>
