Andre is an ex boxer. That's why I think he's getting the money from Geneva. And the money isn't being sent to Andre. It's being given to the family, I think.

Andr is a rich jew - rich enough to escape, you see - and when he's injured and the farmers take him into their house, he feels he should thank them for taking care of him and hiding him from possible enemies.
So he tells the farmers to go to the bank where's he's got money, and get some for themselves because they're being so good to him.
BUT actually they're not being good at all: they tell him Hitler's winning the war, so that jews would still be in great danger. This way they keep hiding Andr and getting his money.
