for all of you that really loved this movieare you kidding me?? this movie was awful. do yourself a favor, and watch an alfred hitchcock movie.. any of them..north X northwest, rear window, dial m for murder.. i could go on and on..only then will you know what a good thriller is..i envy you guys, because if you think this was good, wait till you see the master

To critics: Politicians get assassinated or get stabbed in the back by associates all the time.. it's just not done with guns and knives.
avpsniper: this is suspense film, probably a prototype for the more recent "Red Eye". An innocent person gets dragged into a murder plot - you like it or you don't. Another Director or Screenplay writer won't turn it into a 100% plausible film that no one will criticize for plot weaknesses. Walken, Depp and Dutton were excellent.
I suggest many of you need to peruse a few 'true crime' novels or watch a few more documentaries of homicide cases on A&E - if you think bizarre murders never happen in real life. Seriously, you end up saying, 'If this was a movie, no one would be dumb enough to buy the plot.' Life imitates art.

Well, if you do, like i was saying, why didn't you like it. You gave a nice little reason, but, i guess what i mean is, what more did it need? What would make it a better film? You said about the ending being rushed- here's another possibile reason: In 'real life', this sort of thing would do just that, it would be over quick as a flash. Imagine you've been planning to whack out someone in a position of power. The planning would be long and precise, drawn out. But actually carrying it out, you'd want it done quick.BOom.BoOM.BOOM.

Though I'll probably get flamed for this, I actually thought the film was rather lame and at best average. I was looking forward to watching it and it did have a lot of good ideas but the end result was poor. Christopher Walken didn't appear threatening and just made me laugh instead (near the end of the film when his hair is messed up he looked like Hitler, or maybe that's just me), and the ending seemed too rushed (or maybe that was the point). Plus that dream sequence part added nothing to the film except to make it worse. Anyway, I think with a better director and screenplay it could of been great.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie! I saw it on TV a few months back and was bugging my mom to buy it for me but no stores had it -cries- Finally ordered it online thought! Nice of Time ROCKS and I LOVE Johnny in this movie!

I agree with you all, VERY good movie.. great suspense. It's a shame we hear so little about it. Depp was great in it, but Roma Maffia was really good, too (she was in Profiler and Double Jeopardy).

This was incredible. The first time I saw this movie, it REALLY made me tense, and there are hardy any movies out there like make me react like that. This needs to be in my DVD collection.

I love this movie perhaps as much as you do YoullNeverSeeMeAgain person. Maybe its underrated cause it deals with government hidden agendas.

Yeah it is heatherangel , But those are often the kinds I like things like : Deep Rising and The Relic are two of my favorite movies, but very underrated.
