Can anyone identify for me three guns in this movie? The gun Smitty uses, the gun Jones (the woman) uses, and the gun Smitty gives Watson to use. What kind of guns were those?

The revolver in the opening sequence was a Colt, the cylinder release latch was a dead giveaway. There was about 2 seconds where you could see the rounds in the cylinder and I think I saw a .357 Magnum headstamp, which would probably make that gun some Colt Mk III variant.
Possibly this was the same gun Walken used at the very end during the governor's speech.
The snubby Depp carried looked to me like a Colt Detective Special.
The automatic used in the van (with the suppressor) looked to be Beretta 92.

Check out this website: http://ssl.maxsell.com/productlist.aspx?categoryid=129&sm=1
Based on this I think perhaps Smitty was using a .380 detective special 4" (refers to the barrel length). And Watson was carrying a .380 olympic six. I could be wrong though. As I understand it the detective special is the one with the longer barrel.

No, I'm still very interested. So you'd say Smitty's was a .38, the gun he gave Watson was a snub-nosed .38, and Jones had a 9mm Berreta? Would Watson's be a "detective special?"
Thanks.

I believe both Smitty and Jones were using the standard military/police issue 9mm Berreta. No wait that's right Smitty had a different gun when he was aiming at the govenor. I think his was a .38 police special, which was the same gun Watson used only his was snub nosed. Of course you'll proablly never respond to this since your post is so old.

Well, thanks very much! I, uh, have to find a way to do screen captures, but when I do I will get back to you.
I might ask him about some other movie guns, too.
