I noticed that most of this movie takes place in the year 996 A.D., which is exactly 1,000 years before the movie came out in theaters. I wonder if this was done intentionally or if it was just a coincidence?
It's an awesome movie and I really enjoy it! It has a touching story and great special effects.
Well I know it doesn't have much of a plot but the cast of characters is terrific~Orson

Well the beginning of the film just when an attack on a village is about to start, you can see the date "984 AD" appear on the screen. And also after Bowen vows to hunt all dragons, it says "12 years later".
