How they shot this movie made the state look very gloomy and looked nothing like the landscape, especially around Brainerd with their world class lakes with pine trees and hills as far as a person can see.

But I'll tell ya what. This movie does make me cold. I don't care if I'm watching it in the middle of July and it's 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I still feel strangely compelled to put on a heavy fleece jacket, a fur hat and insulated snow boots. I'm freezin', man. If the Coens did nothing else, they convinced me never to move to the upoer Midwest. Bad food, cold weather and kids with "Accordian King" posters on their bedroom walls. Even if you overlook the occasional leg in a woodchipper, that's still no way to live. Sorry, Minnesota.but not all the Mary Tyler Moores in the world can make up for that. I'm stayin' put.

I was going to start a discussion about how many times they showed people eating but I will just add to your thread. I usually watch Fargo while I am eating too as I would get hungry otherwise.
