He may have been a friend of Cameron Crowe. Jan Wenner also has a small part. I don't think Glenn Frey did that bad of a job, but his part was so small that it really didn't matter either way. Non-actor celebrities make cameo appearances in movies and TV shows all the time.

No, not Cantrell, but there are many other actors that would have done a much better job than Frey. Frey was trying too hard and he wasn't convincing. He is not a good actor. That's all I am saying.

I agree. Glenn's agent must have done some wheeling and dealing to give Glenn this small part. His acting was terrible.
