How many of you wanted to strangle Caitlin when she's watching her mother having a melt down trying to get a spark? Then she finally says, "Don't cry Mommy. I keep these here (reaches into her cast and pulls out a book of matches) to light your candle at night."
If I had been Charley/Samantha, I would have said, "You little brat! Couldn't you see I was losing my mind and you had those matches this whole time?!"
I sometimes think that maybe subconsciously, it was Caitlin's way of getting a little revenge on her mother for making her skate when she broke her wrist.
I love this movie!!
