<p dir="auto">That's one of the least popular parts of the play and often omitted.<br />
Paris has done nothing wrong, and there's already had enough tragedy.  Romeo's posthumous image as a hero of the town is also much more believable if he hasn't just assassinated a Count.<br />
Now, if Paris was a hateful character, it would be different.</p>
