I wish she did not die. I was shocked she was the best thing about the movie. It came out when i was a senior in high school so I had other things on my mind and kicked myself for not seeing it. Elliot should of became a big star but goes to show the most talented people never get attention! It was a great movie.
Only downside should of atleast been one token black person lol but ill forgive them.

Oh, hogwash! I forgive them my foot. Sad you cannot enjoy a movie without bringing race into the equation. Racist!

Oh, but there
is
one token black person: Jolene in the prison. We see her in the beginning, working the Tourist Office call line with Percy.
She mimics Percy: " 'It's like seein' the colours of Paradise come back to you'. Where you get that sh!t from, Percy?"
And Percy replied that people prefer a good lie over the truth any day. Jolene tells her to watch the lies she tells now that she's getting out of prison.
And later, Percy calls up the Tourist line, gets Jolene, and explains about the essay contest they want to run to raffle off the Spitfire. Jolene tells Percy she'll make sure the whole country knows about the contest.
