The guy was passive aggressively portraying Maya's bad traits from their dates. She took the last piece of pizza on one date, so the next day he made fun of it on the show. Then she was late, and he made fun of that. Lastly, he met Nina and introduced a character that clearly looked like Nina, and Maya couldn't take it anymore and snapped at himcalling him out on the perpetual lies he told her that he wasn't depicting her at all.

What was that guy's problem?!
Maya starts dating a guy who does a kids' show about puppets. She watches the show and her date begins making comments about her behavior on the show. She asks him if he's upset about something, but he keeps telling her that she's imagining things. The character that represents her isn't even her, "but I could make a character for you, what would you like to be?" She comes down to the studio to ask him again, and he once again tells her that she's imagining things. Then his characters repeat their conversation word for word, and Maya violently attacks him (or rather his characters) on television.
So what was the guy trying to do? And what did Maya suddenly realize that made her go ballistic?
