I believe it was an 80s film.
I watched it on a cable movie channel. I think it was a segment of a horror anthology film, but not positive.
May have been set near water, probably the bayou.
There was magic involved with the aim of extending ones life (I feel like it was just a lifetime, but could have been immortality)
I believe the magic was something akin to voodoo, but possibly witchcraft.
In the end, the main character succeeds in extending his life, but ends up getting severely burned and disabled.
It ends with him bedridden in the hospital, wrapped in bandages knowing he will have to live out his super-long life this way.
