<p dir="auto">When I was a kid I thought Ed was being surprisingly deep in that comment. I thought he meant his dad was dead, and when he came up to his 'secret place' and looked up at the sky, it was like he was looking up and seeing his dad in Heaven.</p>

<p dir="auto">I remember people in the theaters laughing at the scene and I guess they had got the joke. You could take it either way that he is serious like you said he sees his father in a spiritual way and the dumb way that he actually is able to see his father everyday.</p>
