<p dir="auto">Yeah, and the mother/grandmother was also an eccentric, so the tortoise-shell "holder" was rather "normal" for someone like that, lol. I also took a guess that they were probably eating tortoise soup, which would explain Bernice's reluctance to eat it, and her "playing" with it by picking a spoonful up, and letting it drip/fall back into the bowl. I'm not sure I could bring myself to eat it either, lol.</p>
