Strange, controversial, unusual, yes. But it tells an interesting story. I think it is an excellent film.
This is the role Parker Posey was born to play.

I agree - highly entertaining. The diaglogue patter and patterns were fabulous - from the stage play no doubt. Highly stylized at times.
Parker Posey was fantastic and Tori Spelling was surprisingly sincere and low key.
This movie is not for everyone. It is dark, perverse, the humor is not laugh out loud, but highly entertaining if you like odd and slightly grotesque movies.

Yes, you can definitely see the theatrical influence. Almost makes me want to go to the theater.
Anyway, it's funny, I'm watching this again for the first time in a couple of years, so I came to this board, and saw this post. I agreed with it, so I decided to respond, then I realized I had made the original post 4 years ago.

I liked it a lot, and I can see how it was a play before being made into a movie.
