I haven't seen either film but have read the book. His dialogue and the way the way Humbert Humbert describes him in the narrative gave me the impression of a pornographer who is not only concupiscent and depraved but also has a formal education and some intellectual interests. Not only is he quite affable and colloquial in dealing with strangers but also (characteristic of child sex offenders) very manipulative in an underhand way and possibly knows that his time is up but tries to talk his way out of it. Furthermore, his indifferent attitude to life and rootless existence characterised by his excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs in a house with strangers coming and going gives me the physical impression of Ron Jeremy. I am not sure if Ron Jeremy has any acting abilities or not, but either way I think he would simply need to replicate his natural mannerisms and speech.

Well, Lolita is attracted to Claire Quilty, and it's hard to imagine ANY female being attracted to Ron Jeremy (but apparently he does have a fewno doubt derangedgroupies). I think he has an MA in education or something, but that doesn't necessarily make him erudite or intellectual. His typical schtick was the fat comic truck driver-type that somehow got laid a lot. He's also a TERRIBLE actor.
Also, I don't know that he got into pornography because he's personally "depraved". He had a big weapon and was able to use it dependably on camera in the days before Viagara, which was rare at the time. Now though, there are many actually good-looking male porn stars with equally impressive weapons, and whatever "size queen" groupies he ever had are probably very disappointed with themselves these days. Basically, he's not much LIKE Quilty and he's definitely not a good enough actor to play him.

For your information, I knew that Jeremy Irons played Humbert, and no I am not trolling this site. Pardon my faux pas about Ron Jeremy, I thought the OP didn't know who Humbert was. I saw the original Lolita (1962) and Peter Sellers played the weird guy Quilty. You can cal the dogs off now lol

anointedsista, are you a little kid who still can't read? Or you're just trolling?
First: the OP clearly knows that Ron Jeremy is a porn actor. He was just making a suggestion.
Second: no, no one's talking about Jeremy Irons. For one, the character of Quilty is portayed in this movie by Frank Langella. Irons plays Humbert, NOT Quilty.
Third: think before you make comments.
