For me, anyway.
MK Annihilation had a horrible script, bad acting, but effort is much more appreciated in this one. At least they tried, to gave it that video game feeling, with characters, moves, battles, places, costumes were wonderfully done. Fights were much better in the 2nd one, faster and better choreographed.
But then again, lots of characters were waisted, I must say that.
What I must say is that Chris Lambert was HORRIBLE Raiden in the 1st one, every time he spoke, I expected for people to get naked and have sex, almost like I'm watching porn. Every actor except Robin Shou and Linden Ashby did a terrible job at that one.
James Remar was better Raiden for me. And I will always appreciate "heart in the right place" crap, more then mild effort and slow-mo lazy fights in the 1st one.

Sorry but the original is 100x better but I agree with the fights. This sequel is much stronger in this category

Raiden at least is taken somewhat seriously in the first movie, in the second he's a joke. whole film is schlock, terrible looking and terrible dialogue
she fell through a hole, and was never seen again
