It seems like all Darryl wanted to do was have sex with her..up until he was getting shot at.
Vanessa was playing Darryl as a naive idiot the whole time, until he traced the crooked cop to her. That part I don't understand, how he connect those dots so fast. He only ran into the cop - one time - when he was arrested for quitting Billy's Slick Fleet business.
How did Darryl know that the crooked cop and the supposedly-dead "Vanessa" was connected, so fastespecially after the one and only confrontation? Something is missing from the movie, or just plain deleted altogether.
Anyhow, Vanessa killed Trish, and mislead the nasty Jamaicans into thinking that Darryl killed Vanessa to get the diamonds.
Vanessa deserved to die.

This was one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a while. While Vanessa may have played Darryl for a fool, he was no idiot. Darryl already had some brains on him and decided he wanted to do something with his life. He sharpened his mind with books in prison. Add that to street smarts so I am not surprised he connected the dots so fast.
What I want to know is how Vanessa got Trish killed. Vanessa had evil all over her from the start.
