I believe Ginsberg was an honorable woman. But here's one case where I agree with you that she was off base in her gender politics. She wrote the majority opinion which forced the Virginia Military Institute to admit women.
There are circumstances where gender differences need to be taken into consideration, and the military is one of them. The U.S. Department of Defense has enough sense not to require that 50% of combat soldiers be female. So obviously a military school can take biological sex into consideration as well.
Since the 1996 decision we still do not see half of combat troops as female. Bottom line, there are some areas where gender parity is just not practical.
Ginsberg and the court were wrong.

“Neither federal nor state government acts compatibly with equal protection when a law or official policy denies to women, simply because they are women, full citizenship stature-equal opportunity to aspire, achieve, participate in and contribute to society based on their individual talents and capacities,” Ginsberg wrote.
