While I like this movie, I thought that Heather Graham was miscast and that her accent was terrible. Also, compared to the other prostitutes in the movie, she looks like a Victoria's Secret model wearing a Victorian prostitute dress.

I actually like Heather Graham and think that she is a Pretty Good Actress.

I mean, she is good in movies like The Hangover, her tiny part towards the end of Swingers and Committed, but yeah I agree. Her accent is so bad, I think I could even see Johnny Depp's reaction in some scenes.

I live in Ireland and my husband is Irish, I don't know anyone who sounds like that.She shouldn't have been in the film, she was the lowpoint of the film.

Her character says in the film that she immigrated from Ireland to England when she was a child, so it's more likely she would've had an English accent, which is what she spoke with throughout the film. The real Mary Kelly, according to what documents there are, claimed to have left Ireland as a child as well, and her family settled in Wales.

Jennifer Aniston isn't that bad of an actress. She is good in Cake as well as The Good Girl.
If you want bad acting, then you need to see either a Lifetime movie or a Tara Reid movie.

I seriously think the "Heather Graham ruined this movie" claim is absurd. It was not an Oscar-worthy performance, but she was not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. I also do not think this film was "Oscar material" with or without her. It's a good movie, but it's not a great movie.

Lifetime movies? That was the Dollanganger family movies she did. I just saw her in Wander (Aaron Eckhart crime movie) and I thought she was good.
Also, you need to see Committed. She plays a woman whose husband goes missing on their wedding night and she is amazing in the role.

IMO she prevented this movie from being Oscar material. I'm so glad she's now doing Lifetime movies where she rightfully belongs.
