Well, it's been 6 years since it was only a 5.5, and now it's up to an average of 6.2. I think this movie's been developing more of a cult following over the years. So perhaps within another few years it'll get closer to a 7.0.

Definitely. Something between 6.5 to 7 seems the fair rating.
Overall pretty flimsy and cheesy, but I had some laugh out loud moments in between.

I think it depends on whether you like Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan.
I found the movie to be pretty hilarious at times and made me laugh out loud so would def give it a 7 along with it's great soundtrack

Most people on here seem to have a strong opinion of it one way or the other.
I guess I'm an exception, because I thought it was an O.K. movie, so 5.5 seems appropriate to me. I've seen a lot of movies that are better than this, and a lot that are worse.

On the contrary..I think they did a great job of writing a story that carried the whole movie.and the jokes along the way are hilarious.

it's great little 5 min on SNL, but not enough to make it into a 60min movie

I think it's probably the worst movie I've ever seen, and I've seen Camp Rock and A Walk To Remember, so that's saying someething.

Honestly, the movie is not that funny. It sort of grows on you the more you watch it and the entire premise (bobbing their heads to "what is love") is extremely funny, but that skit-based concept can't carry a full length movie.
The problem with it is there are very little actual 'jokes' with a punch line and you being able to laugh outloud. it's just a series of awkward circumstances that occur one after the other. This is typical of will ferrell movies, but there's usually pleanty of actual jokes between them.
Not saying I hate it, but yeah, doesn't deserve anything above a 5.5 The movie is more fun to talk about and quote than actually watching it.

haha yeah the rating is way to low!! I mean I understand that ANATR isn't going to be considered a really well made movie, but it was definitely worth watching!!! a 7 at least not to mention what is cooler than the boombox scene near the end of the film where Ferrel is about to marry that creepy girl!? haha love it.

Could you be a little bit more scathing in your review? LOL. I personally have seen only a few scenes of it but from what I saw, it looks rather pathetic.

It is probably ranked so low because it is a terrible movie. I can't believe this has a 5.5. The plot is about as flimsy as anything I've ever seen, the jokes aren't funny, and Chris Kattan is a truly terrible actor. Will Ferrell is talented, but even he can't save this film from crashing and burning. This is down there with White Chicks and The Hot Chick as one of the worst comedies ever produced. Absolutely abysmal1/10

yes, it is too low, just because of the soundtrack the movie has to have a point more.
