I have to agree with most of the people here and say Chris Tucker. I know I might be in the minority when I say this but I actually prefer Shanghai Noon to Rush Hour I just find Owen Wilson slightly less annoying than Tucker.

It's not THAT great.
But I'll give credit where credit is due.
It rips off 48 Hours and Beverly Hills Cop in fine fashion.
Decent writing, a solid 5/10

This movie is comedy gold. This is the PERFECT buddy comedy and it truly stand the test of time, the second one was good but not THAT good, the third one was a complete mistake.
This is a movie that proves how a comedy should be done buddy comedies these days are just garbage.
uhhhh, because that's his charm. I can't get that idiotic, line-forgetting, blooper-reel filling, high, shrill extremely annoying voice anywhere else and I love it. This wasn't even his worst, see 5th Element for a real showcase of his 'talent'. Nothing to debunk. This statement is totally bunk. (or whatever the opposite is)

i agree! this is an awesome movie. my favorite part was when jackie chan tells the girl in hong kong "dont worry america is a very friendly place" and then the scene goes to Los Angeles, CA where chris tucker is driving the corvette and you hear horns honking and he yells move you stupid something" and then after he shoots clives car and it explodes a song starts playing and chris tucker dances, waves his gun in the air and yells ya! that kept me laughing for the next two scenes! i own all the rush hour films they are hilarious!

it doesnt matter about his english, which i thought was brilliant, it just seemed like he was a person struggling to get the language spot on, which he was, i think..
edit: as this was in the plot, a Chinese man in America, he has lived his life in China, why would he need to use English?
i cant say a bad word against this movie, it is thouroughly enjoyable, i just dont understand people who, if a movie isnt perfect, or doesnt have boobies flying all over the place, says its crap
why cant people just sit down and ENJOY the occasional movie, opposed to critiquing it, judging it, it entertains me even to this day (lol, only 9 yrs old) and therefore imho is a very good movie.
the stuntwork is incredible, the comedy is spot on, the camera work is great, it just looks good, makes me laugh and chris tucker/jackie chan are a wonderful duo!!!!
immaturity and your life is alot like wine, the older it gets, the more it costs you

Sometimes Jackie's lines were delivered awkwardlythey seemed forced or contrived. I understand that english is not his first language, but the way he spoke the lines still gave me the feeling that it was "acted" rather than "genuine". Otherwise, I don't have anything else to criticize.
Some of the action scenes were really original and well-doneI liked the one at the beginning where Jackie tries to get away from Chris by grabbing onto the traffic sign from the top of the tour bus, then jumps onto a truck and slips into an open cab windowreally smooth!
