People don't give TPM it's due. It was an average movie at the very least. It doesn't ruin the original hero's efforts. I understand the hate for Midichorians and the overuse of Jar Jar. It's an unfortunate truth that when a new toy comes out it gets abused. Color did, sound did.. Speaking of "new" is installments remakes have very recent been abused.
The Force Awaken's represents a failure to listen or rather listening too much. The thing is George's ideas could've been the improved on in there dramatic importance with someone else at the helm. This is the reason why The Clone Wars series (from season 2 on) works so well and so did Rogue One. You don't try to be Star Wars you either do or do not. Are you a reboot or a continuation?
The Phantom Menace is a slightly underrated Star Wars movie. It certainly doesn't deserve to be skipped. I wish Clones could be skipped but it has too much important Army information.
One things for sure as bad as Attack of the Clones got it didn't suffer the same identity crisis TFA does. I think Clones was a worse movie than Awaken's but did it do the same damage is debatable. I say yes for the mere fact it was the reason no one trusted Lucas with his property anymore so what happens? A turn to a far left field when it's completely unnesesary. Star Wars should still be Lucas' story though maybe not his screenplay. Also some of his unessesary over focuses in those movies.
