The audience- Stop booing every guy who comes on the show just because the sluts claim him to be the father! Many of them have perfectly good reason to doubt the child is theirs. Same with the men being accused of cheating, you don't know for sure they are cheating so just wait til the results are in!

Unfair circumstance for the men: If a man doesn't have a say in whether or not the mother aborts (or puts the child up for adoption) the baby, then he should not have to promise Maury that he'll take care of a baby when a DNA test proves that a one night stand suddenly gets him stuck with a child that could have been 5 other guys'. Is it fair that men are suddenly called up and told that a woman he slept with a year ago and hasnt been with since suddenly accuses him of being the father?
If women are going to have a baby, either know for sure who the father is and make sure he is aware of the situation, or be prepared to raise the baby yourself. Why does a man have no say when it comes to the adoption or abortion option but suddenly when the baby is born he MUST be there cuz it's his child and his responsablilty?? If women want to be sluts then let them be sluts, but why does Maury expect every guy who has committed to nothing but sex to suddenly step up and be a father to a baby he didnt want? Is it his fault the birth control failed? His fault the woman decided to keep the baby? His fault the woman didnt tell him about their child until after it was born? No its not the guy's fault.
I wish a guy would go up there and when Maury asks: "You will step up and be a father if this baby is yours, right?", he should just say "Nah, beep you Maury, kids were never a part of my life plans, if she wants help she can take it to a foster home or raise him herself cuz she made that decision without my approval."

The decoys ok this is so annoying. Whenever a guy is being accused of cheating Maury has his "Black Ops Expert" guy set up a camera with a decoy in the backroom before the show.really?? it takes a guy with the title of "Black Ops Expert" to put a camera in a room and watch what happens with the actress and the cheater? A monkey can do that meathead's job

Women running backstage: WTF is that!! "MarkYOU ARRRE..not the father" aaaand cue the skank running backstage so that the audience cant boo her after she claims: "Maury, I am 10,000% sure he IS the father of my baby!!!" (so sure she had to say it while clapping her hands at every syllable). Then here comes Maury with his "Mark, get away can't you see she's upset! Stop rubbing it in her face, she only flew you all the way out here, called you out on national television, smacked you up a bit, called your mom a bitch who needs to mind her own business, had an audience of people boo you (cuz theyre all ethically perfect apperently), and acted like a little miss knowitall throughout the whole process, leave her alone she doesnt deserve any ridicule!"

Women hitting/trying to hit the men Why should violence be allowed with no consequence besides outside of the "security guards" half assingly stepping between the crazy lady and the idiot she's trying to hit. Do the guys sign a waiver before the show saying they accept all abuse that can occur on stage and agree to never defend themselves? I'm sorry, didnt we used to call that domestic abuse? Oh but if a MAN so much as pushes a woman back in self defense he's completely out of line.

Baby's looking like the dad "Look at that nose Maury!! Look at that nose!! It looks JUST like his!! He has he most unique nose of all the 5 guys I slept with when I got pregnant! It's definitely his baby Maury!" Stupid women, babies look like babies and just cuz they look like one guy doesnt mean they dont look like another guy. This part of the show is such a waste of time.

Stupid excuses why it not their son Need I say more? Some of these guys come on the show acting like they absolutely cannot be the father of the child due to excuses like: "I only had sex with her ONCE Maury", "I dont think i can even have kids Maury! My cousin who took a biology class says so!", "I have 4 daughters so I can't have boys Maury that's not my son!", "I cant be the father Maury that baby doesnt even act like me!", "That baby is too ugly to be my son! (lmao when it is)" etc.

Maury. Control your guests and tell them to stop shouting when they tell their side of the story. Shouting when its only her and you on stage makes NO sense.

The Heald college commercials All that "Get off the couch and make a phone call that will help you with your future! Why you making it complicated? Its EASY (walks away disgusted with me)." Yeah umi understand not every commercial is specifically made for me but how annoying is it when a guy on tv is yelling at you like youre a loser when you are already attending a college that he couldnt even get into if he paid his teachers.

Maury commercials "Do you suspect that your boyfriend is cheating on you with y

See, that's debatable. A mother can say that it'd be best for the child if she and the father took responsibility, while the father believes it'd be best for the child to be given to an adoptive (read: stable) family. But no, the mother keeps it, works a dead end job, receives government aid, collects money from the father (making him stoop lower socioeconomically) since they can't make their relationship work, and the child is then going back and forth from mom's house to dad's house every 4 days. So now, who is selfish and is this all better for the child in actuality? Is it better for society? How is making two people less financially stable better for society?
I agree with you now. I didn't think of that because I was thinking more of my own family and how that worked out.

But what I meant was that both parents should take responsibility for the kid because they both acted irresponsibly by having unprotected sex with a person they barely know.
I also agree that they should share the responsibility - and the first part of that responsibility is how to handle the situation before birth. And yet women have full say in that matter, which is contradictory to the equal rights parents are supposed to have.
That would be the best thing for the child, not the stupid, selfish parents.
See, that's debatable. Things that are directly and strongly related to crime (both juvenile and adult) and/or lower quality of life: poverty, maladjusted youth, broken homes, incompatible parents, cramped households, overpopulation, higher taxes.
Things that would be reduced if both parents had
equal
say in whether to keep/adopt/abort: poverty, maladjusted youth, broken homes, incompatible parents, cramped households, overpopulation, higher taxes.

But what I meant was that both parents should take responsibility for the kid because they both acted irresponsibly by having unprotected sex with a person they barely know.
Agree with all your points but the second one. It's just as much the men's fault for not using a condom.
That's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing that it is unfair for a woman to have 100% say in whether or not she is going to raise the baby, sometimes without telling or knowing who the father is and then using HER decision to alter the man's life forever once she proves he's the father. Keeping men in the loop before the baby arrives is key and should be enforced by law.
Look at Janelle from Teen Mom 2. She's recently had an abortion without telling the father that she was ever pregnant. Is it fair she aborted the child without telling him? What if he wanted to keep the baby had he known? If he had a right to keeping the baby then he also has the right to say "No, I cannot raise this baby, I want you to get an abortion or give the child up for adoption." Oh wait, only women have the right to make that decision even though as we both agree, "it's just as much the men's fault for not using a condom" (or the condom failing, or the woman lying about being on BC, because women haven't lied for the child payments before)
How would women like it if men could say "I know you don't want that baby, but you're going to carry it to term, AND you're going to help me at least financially in raising it". Now I know women bear the hardship of being pregnant/giving birth, but that is nothing compared to actually raising the child - and it sure as hell doesn't mean mommy is more of a parent than daddy. Yet dads who want an abortion or to give the child up for adoption have ZERO say in that. If that's the way people want it then fine, but don't ask for his money when YOU'RE making the decision to raise the child. It's an injustice to him and society overall by creating more poverty, which goes hand and hand with more crime and poorer quality of life.
It's a double standard to only honor the woman's decisions, and then turn around and say BOTH parents are responsible for the well being of the child. Are you arguing that men don't deserve the same rights as women when it comes to what is EQUALLY theirs?

fgadmin

Reply to Stupid Things about this show…. on Sat, 02 May 2026 22:52:07 GMT

WaningMoonMage — 12 years ago(December 04, 2013 01:03 PM)

And I still occasionally use the line "Why are you making it complicated? IT'S EASY!" That commercial made me LOL every time.
And another thing I hate is just how dumb people are in general. You find condoms and underwear and someone even called you can told you they had sex with your boyfriend but you don't know for sure if he's cheating. Your kid is a different ethnicity than you and your partner and you don't know for sure if you're the father. Your out of control teen is disrespecting you and all you do about it is cry and bring them on television to show how much you failed etc.

Things I find stupid/annoying:

When a female has tested five men to find out the father of her child and yet she still yelling and screaming I'm not a hoe. And when she actually find the father then she starts shaking her ass on the splits. WTF?!?

When the females are having their men take a lie ditector test and after every question they tell the truth on they say "That don't mean nothing; there's more question". Like they want them to be cheating.

The audience; I don't even want to type all the annoying things about them.

Trisha G. and that one Snoopy looking dude.
5)When the females are like "yup I'm getting that child support". Give the man a chance to be in the childs life; you was boinking 10 dudes of course he wants a DNA test.

Stupid guest all together. How can you find panties (that's not your size) and a used condom (yall don't use condoms) in your mans care and say "I don't know if he cheating".

The fact that these people would go onto national TV and make themselves and their whole family look stupid and just eww.

So pretty much the entire show annoys me, but I can't stop watching the DNA test episodes. lol
Alright, I guess this is the night bitches die.

Yeah, so maybe I oversimplified.
I still have a point on the double standards, though. Right?

I understand what you are saying and I would encourage him to take care of that other child too and I would love to have contact with the baby. But not with him. the guy is a jerk, I say I"ll deal with your baby but not you. I had a boyfriend years ago whom I found was a deadbeat dad. I encouraged him to see his son and most of the time I had to force him. His ex hated me and she had no idea that if it wasn't for me his son would never see him. And if I had children I would make sure they were in contact with the secret sibling, but nothing says I have to deal with the guy.
Another point I want to make that I feel people over look. My definition of a bad mom and dad is clearly different then a lot of the people on that show. And I know a few people in life who just settled. They think bringing some pampers over and a booty call is being a good parent. But the problem arises because a lot of these kids really think the dad or mother are good parents and it is carried over to the next generation.
How many times have we heard some one declare on Maury "I take care of mine" and the women agrees? Meanwhile he has 4 other kids and works nowhere or barely. Take care means he comes over once a week , tells her he loves her have sex and leave a few bags of pampers.

Ever see the ones where the "lie detecter" proves that a man had a "secret love child with another woman" to his wife/gf?
Maury to wife/gf: "Do you think you can still be with this man?"
Wife/gf: "No! I can't be with him if he has a baby."
Maury: "OK, then."
Audience: cheers
Where's the encouragement there to love a step-child? How is this any worse? In fact, I'll dare to say that the woman has it better - she won't be forced/pressured into any obligation to raise support the child. At most, just let the kid visit every other weekend.
And yeah, anyone who thinks this is feminism is either stupid or deluded. It's just a man-bashing, woman-coddling theme in order to bring in ratings. They know women are the majority of their audience, like you said, so they want to appeal to them. "Counter-sexism" is not empowerment.

Cdon you read my mind That is the one thing I say too. A big difference. I wish someone would say to him one day.
To address some of the other people in this thread. I have been in the audience of some of these shows. I lived in NY they were free so you go. First off they tell the audience how and what to say. So the audience doesn't believe the women all of the time. On some shows they do not even let you sit with who you come with they match the audiences up. Look at the audiences and how they are seated. The camera goes to one section for certain reactions. You would think the guys have no support but when you see they were not lying they run to a certain section and looks like they had nothing but support.
The complaints about it being feminist, does anybody really believe this show is on The NOW list for shows to watch?
These shows are very manipulating and they are geared toward young girls who go to those schools they advertise during the show. People need to understand that before they look at the show they are not going to make a low down lying strumpet look bad. They are going to offer her sympathy even after making poor guy into a fool. Do you think they would have guests if they knew they were going to get a lashing from Maury and the audience? If anything it is anti feminist because it makes young girls into sexual objects at times and make women look like lying sluts. Who are so out of control they do not even use Birth Control while having sex with multiple partners. Who can think that this show is pro feminist?
