Chili's Bar and Grille took a beating this weekend, because a Black army veteran was denied a free meal on Veteran's Day, due to a white Trump supporter.
Ernest Walker, 47, went to the Cedars Hill, TX location for lunch on Friday with his service dog Barack by his side, where the family restaurant chain promised a free meal to all veterans and active military, so long as they provided a military ID.
Walker, who served in the Armys 25th Infantry Division Tropic Lightning, ordered a burger and then asked his waitress for a 'take out box'. He was dressed in his old army uniform and showed his military ID.
At that time, an elderly white man who was wearing a 'Trump for President' shirt, approached Walker and the waitress, and told them that Walker was not a veteran. He told them that he served in Germany, and Black soldiers were not allowed to serve in Germany.
By that time a manager walked over (young white male), and became involved - telling Walker he was not qualified for a free meal because he wasn't a veteran. The manager claimed other guests said he wasn't a vet because he was wearing his hat indoors, and also said his dog was not a service dog. At that point, Walker pulled out his ID and hsi discharge papers, as well as certification that his dog was indeed a service dog. The manager insisted on him leaving, and took his meal away.
JamesAvalon, pjpimple and the rest of the conservatives here stood up and cheered.
Walker recorded most of the incident and psted it on his Facebook page, as the story went viral. Today a spokesperson for Chilis said the manager was 'placed on leave'.
I'm sure he will get a job with the Trump administration. BTW, rumor has it that the manager on the video is our own JamesAvalon though it hasn't been verified.
