No, cops here are very territorial. I live in a suburb with it's own police force. Neither LAPD nor the County Sheriff have any authority here. They can chase a fleeing suspect inside the suburb. But they cannot patrol here.

I don't believe the opposite is true. When I lived in Cali, city cops could go into unincorporated areas with the objective of justifying annexation. In many states there are mutual support agreements between jurisdictions. Anyone know the law in Minnesota?

In Los Angeles County the sheriffs only have jurisdiction over unincorporated areas. Sheriffs don't dare venture into the city of LA and LAPD don't dare cross over into county or any suburb with it's own police force.

The current Minneapolis chief and the department's management definitely need to be fired. Look at the havoc they've created across the country by their ineptitude. It will send a message to other police departments around the country to clean up their act, or they'll be next. This is a great day in America.
