i guess they didnt know they wanted to make a sequel yet? orrr is that supposed to be a dream? its going to have to be a dream or nightmare or whatever because they made the damn sequel lol.

They mentioned it briefly, it was a dream. It was towards the beginning. I forget who was asking her about it, but she was telling someone she had a dream and they asked if it was the one in the shower again. I think it was Ray? I assumed they were referring to the last scene in the first one.
It does look like they didn't know they'd be making a sequel and called it a dream as a cop-out though.
