Yet these characters are in school around 4th of Julyor is it summer school??? Will did mention something about summer school but the rest mentioned something about finals.
Clear this up for me people in the U.S.

Will says to Julie, after she freaks out in class and they're walking, "Julie it's a summer school" or "the joys of summer school".

My college typically has summer classes from the first week of June to the first week of July, and then the same from July to August. So our first summer term finals would usually be right before or right after Independence Day, depending on the day it fell on.

Summer classes
My school has two five week summer sessionsone from mid may to mid june, then another one from late june to early august. So there wouldn't be any finals for awhile after july 4, but maybe their school is on a different schedule.
