i liked when spock "macguyvered" together the anesthetic gas and sits there deeply inhaling like he's some 60s hippie druggie.

Probably but in that scene,just like with Neo,he basically became bullet proof by controlling his own perception of what was real or not.Plus the Doc Holliday gang almost were like the agents in The Matrix.
