"Many people" means that there were people who didn't find Roman being the killer unpredictable, which means that your claim that it was unpredictable is simply an opinion and not "the truth". You and your friends hardly represent the entire world population. Unless you find irrefutable evidence that everyone who's watched the movie found him to be unpredictable, you can not make such a claim. And since I'm actually one of those people who wasn't surprised he was the killer due to his extremely suspicious death, it will never be possible to make such a claim.

Scream 3's killer is only shocking, IMO< because of the stupidity surrounding him:

1. He's so minor and inconsequential tons of people I know said "Who's that?" when he was revealed. Hard to predict the killer when you don't even know the CHARACTER
2. The fact
   Gale
   cannot detect a pulse on his body
3. If we count the connection with Sid, the fact its out of nowhere and never implied in 1&2. This also means he's stealing credit from the two best killers of the franchise )Billy and Stu)
4. Being Sid's brother even though nothing in 3 even hints to this, let alone in 1&2
