Ramona is doing great and all.But Alyson will still be remembered by little kids.Ramona has WONDERFUL singing though.But she does overact a little too much.

I can honestly say I never saw the old Loonette. I think the new one is cute and just fine. I guess if you never knew what the original looked like or sounded like then there is no problem. My daughter seems to really love the show, but not as much as she loves Curious George!

you can's be serious, the new Loonette is absolutely fake and a terrible actress. The old one was much much better.

this is gonna come off as totally politically incorrect and all that bad stuffbut the new Loonette seems a little retarded to me. not necessarily actually handicapped, but just really retarded.
however, i watch still because my neighbour appeared in some of the newest seasons episodes and i like to see her on T.V.

I agree 100%! I like the new Loonette so much better than the old one. I really don't understand the negative comments. I don't see one quality the old one had better than the new one. To be honest we rather not even watch the old one, but it gets hard since there aren't that many new ones out yet.

I thought it was just me that got irritated by her voice. It's more than squeaky, it has this nasally quality about it, like she's got a very bad head cold or she can't seem to breathe through the red fake nose. I was watching an episode with my children and I had to walk out of the room because the new Loonette's voice was sheer annoyance. If it weren't for Snicklefritz and the Dustbunnies, which my kids love, I don't think they'd watch the show as much. We prefer the old Loonette, she was a lot of fun to watch.

Her squeaky voice DRIVES ME NUTS and my kids just don't like the show anymore. Why mess with a good thing?

Add me to the "hate" list. I can't say I love the original show, but this new Loonette has a voice that grates on me and I can't even stay in the room. She sounds so fake, trying to mimic the original.

HATE the new Loonette. I noticed right away and actually had to stare at the tv to make sure I was right because I couldn't imagine tptb wanting to replace Alyson. The little 2 year old loves this show and she doesn't watch the new ones as well. Lately I've been putting her down for nap when it's on instead of letting her watch it before nap. I'm so very dissappointed in the change. I agree with those who say she is trying to up Alyson, but at the same time tries to sound like her. She is definetly not as upbeat as Alyson. I may have to purchase some tapes to watch.

I completely agree with all of the women so far that have said they HATED the new Loonette. My 3 1/2 year old just got into BCC about 2 months ago. She was watching it the other day while I was running her bath and she came in so upset. Telling me that Loonette is not Loonette. I had to watch for myself, and to my disbelief it was Ramona. I did some research and found out that Alyson the original Loonette was replaced. All I can say is when the old Loonette is on, my daughter will watch. When she is not, I will just pop in the dvd's that I bought of Alyson as Loonette! Great show, bad change in actresses, obvious enough for a 3 year old to notice!

I agreeI could only watch a few minutes of the new Loonette this morning before I had to turn the channel. It is like trying to replace a family pet on the day it passes away and trying to pretend nobody will notice. We have watched Loonette for 4 years (6, 4 and 1 year old). I just bought some more VHS tapes and we will be watching them over and over before watching the new ones. The new girl might be very nice but she is a little too jumpy or hyper and not in a good way. It is like a pot of spaghetti sauce that is missing one ingredientand you cant figure out just what it is but it is a total turn off. Sorry!

You had to have been paid to post that the new Loonette is "great". She's awful - truly truly awful. In fact, when I first heard her (I was in another room), the first word that popped into my head was "Depressing"! I had to come out to see that someone was not doing a comic spoof of the show. I was horrified to realize it was actually a replacement Loonette. That said, we did give it a chance, and we watched that episode, and one more after that the next week. Sorry, can't do more than that.
Notice her speech patterns - instead of ending her comments in a positive "upswing" that MOST people use on small children to keep their interest and make them excited, 99% of the time they're in a discordant "downswing", making it seem like she's miserable and about to cry (despite the not quite real smile on her face).
YUCK. In fact, that is what my toddler says when it comes on - "yuck, mama", or "no no - off!".
Bad bad bad change. Alyson DID do a great job. SHE was Loonette. It was a mistake to try to replace her, especially with this girl. I would much rather my kids watch endless reruns of BCC featuring Alyson than subject them to this scary, depressed, alternate-universe Loonette.
Perhaps the show should have been allowed to end gracefully. It's been on forever, and surely there are enough quality episodes to keep the interest in reruns indefinitely. It was a favourite of my now 12 year old daughter when she was her sister's age (almost 2) and the episodes that she watched 10 years ago are "new again" to her sister. I see nothing wrong with that.

i so agree wit i miss the old loonette why did they replace her she was great. i hate the change because we grew up watching the old loonette why change it. You see how the new loonette is trying to be better than the old one and she is acting like her. But the songs are great and i was watching an episode the other day and when the new loonette was singing one of the old songs it sounded like the old loonette like the new one was just lip singing well i hate the change i wish it would go back.

R U CRAZY!!!! THAT LOONETTE AINT PRETTY BUT HER SONGS ARE CATCHY. BUT ALYSON SHOULD BE PLAYING LOONETTE AND MAYBE RAMONA COULD DO SOME SONG WRITING FOR THE SHOW. sHE MAY EVEN APPEAR ON AN EPISODE BUT AS A DIFFERENT CLOWN.
