I suspect it is too late. Even if the Democrats caved and we cut social services across the board. Even if the republicans caved and we pulled the militray back withing our borders and slashed its funding. Even if we passed a balanced budget amendment and cut governmental pay to no more than what the average american maded the prior fiscal year. Even if we chopped off 2/3 of the federal governments unnecessary beaurcracy. I simply don't see it as possible to pay back the debt. The interest alone is rising faster than we can cope with.
