I think the first is WAY better despite its shortcomings. This one was just plain bad.

The first one is way better than this piece of beep and that says a lot, cause the first one was awful.

Oh, Goodman and Moranis are great actors. But I liked Addy and Baldwin much better. And I couldn't agree with you more on what you said. This one is better.

This was on TV the other night. IMHO, John Goodman was a better Fred. Kristen Johnston didn't suit the part of Wilma. She had the look, but the voice was way off. Then again neither did Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma in the first movie. However, Stephen Baldwin as Barney and Jane Krakowski as Betty cracked me up. They had the laughs down perfect.
Alan Cumming was brilliant as Gazoo and Mick Jagged. That's what made the 2nd movie slightly better than the first.

I have to see this one and the first one again.
They both had a few unfavorable casting choices but the second one had some nice moments that made me recall some of those little things about the cartoon that I liked.
Some of the bits in the first movie were just wrong. While the second was one over the top gag after another remeniscent of the cartoon.
I can't say if this movie would meet anywhere near everyone's greatest expectations, but it is enjoyable and worth watching and just might be close to the best most Flintstones fans might expect.
