That awful awful accent says otherwise. Holy crap, it took me out of the magic of the movie every time he talked. Which is even worse when you consider what a superfluous character he is anyway, since the film had a much more interesting villain already with Walter Wade JR. Why they thought this movie needed two adversaries for Shaft will always be beyond me, it just muddled things up if anything.
The other bad guy was useless, dragged down every scene he was in, and made the movies pacing all over the place since you can tell they added more scenes with him later during the editing process.
