In the movie they try to equate Cody's birth with Christ's. There is the "slaughter of the innocents" where King Harrod had all the babies killed that were born on the day of the Star of Bethlehem, because he was told that God was sending his son down to earth on that day, December 25. So Eric Stark is doing the same thing in modern times, how did they come up with December 16, 1993 as being the day God was sending a messiah, prophet or messenger.

In hardcore bizzare occultic circles they engage in human sacrifice.I once watched a documentary about someone who left the group or coven and what he had to say scared the you know what out of me.He said people don;t understand these people are extremely quiet and believe in there religion whole heartedly. He said ever wonder why so many kids just majically dissappear. He said the word occult means hidden underground. They're not out and about on there religion.Where they work if someone asks they tell them there christians or atheists.Really scary,..And i think the new dawn was a shout out to aleister crowleys the golden dawn.

It's never stated anywhere that christ was born on december 25th, it's just a day the early christians chose to celebrate his birth because it is close to the wintersolstice, a feast that was going on anyway and would have been impossible to get rid off.
furthermore that IF christ was born on what was THEN december 25th, there have been so many calendarchanges that it would have shifted a few days. most notably is in the (i believe) 12th century when eleven entire day s were scrapped because the solar and paper calendar didnt match up anymore.
i assume the filmmakers did their research about the times the calendar shifted

I assume because Dec 16 happened to be the day that Cody was born. Could've been any day, really.
Underneath the haughty there's a little bit of naughty.
