I really enjoyed BTC, this is not that bad as critics and some people here say. But some of the characters actions aren't believable:

Eric Stark is a star - he's a former child actor and has a foundation, even Angela Bettis says to Basinger: "He IS Eric Stark" -, so why went he personally with a limo to kidnapp Kim's niece?

Since he's a star, why didn't Kim fly to the tabloids and tell reporters the whole story? And let the tabloids do the rest with such a polemic case?

The creepy nanny saw Kim in the dentist but instead of killing her, prefered to kill the driver (Kim's character has a driving license);

Was the cult searching for 6 y.o. kids randomly? And if they already had the mom and knew who was the special kid, why bothering searching for others?

The star appeared on Dec. 16, 1993 so any kid born that day (under the star, apparently in New York) could qualify as the kid as long as they had the powers to go with it.
As to question number 2, our pat answer at home is "because it wasn't in the script".
