Seriously, why did gladiators use weapons? What a bunch of cowards! They thought they were so strong and so badass but they needed weapons when they fought other people. That's a pussy-move. Weapons are for the weak. Why do you think people made weapons in the 1st place? People made weapons because they were physically weak, people cannot fight for themselves; therefore, we resort to using weapons. Get it?
I cannot stand those people who think they're so powerful, so strong, and invincible but they need weapons when they fight. Look at the Terminator, you guys think he was strong? Nope. Take away his guns and he'd be nothing. Why do you think the Terminator needed guns when fighting T-1000? Because Schwarzenegger could not beat the T-1000 in a hand to hand combat; therefore, Schwarzenegger needed weapons. Get it?
Look at Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, you guys think those guys are strong? Nope, take away their knives and machetes and let's see how strong they really are.
Take away Maximus' weapons and let's see how strong he really is.
