For people that want to watch this now. It did air on TCM last night and is also available to watch on their website for a week or by the by using the app. TCM also has an app for fire TV so if you are a cable subscriber which includes TCM you can watch it on your TV as well.

Yes - such a fascinating story and a shame its proper release in Cinemas was prevented. It sadly points out some of the problems there were with the British exit from India/Pakistan. There was no way (I defy anybody to tell me) that the exit could have been successful when there were so many people of different views involved. The blame for what happened (the bloodshed, etc) if any had to be placed, should be on everybody and therefore nobody. It could not have been prevented. It is too simplistic to say it was the fault of the British (Mountbatten et al), Nehru, Jinnah or even Ghandi - although I have heard or seen so many people do so, over my 61 years on this earth

To get the original and official version, and to do the movie justice, you should goto www.jinnahmovie.com. The DVD was released on 5 July 2004. I hope watching this film helps people to learn about the real story of Pakistan and the great people and sacrifices behind it.

I am also a great fan of Christopher Lee. If you have read the "Authorised screen history", then you will hear that there were even rumours of an oscar for Mr. Lee at the time, though all the controvercy and stupid extremists threatening to burn down cinemas if they showed the film ended that, and nobody has since dared to re-adress the issue. If you are a fan then you must also buy one of his CD's. He has such a great singing voice!
