Reading some of the reviews posteda lot of people didn't like this movie because they watched it dubbed in English. Don't do that.
The movie was decent, nasty at times (gag), but I'm sure I would've hated it had I watched it dubbed.
Granted, I did giggle at some cheesy moments despite the fact that I watched it in German. I don't know how other countries are about this but foreign movies that are dubbed into American English are going to be stupidno doubts about it.
WATCH THIS ONE IN GERMAN

I try to avoid dubbed movies unless it goes along with its cheesiness, like a bad Japanese sci-fi movie from the 60's. But the dubbed version is what is on Crackle. It is bearable because the movie is so good. But rather have seen the subtitled version. Plus imo German is not so far from English so the words are not too off. Usually in any other language it drives me nuts.

the debate on dubbing vs subtitles will run and run and I personally don't notice subtitles as distracting, except when they're done poorly. I saw crouching tiger hidden dragon in the cinema with fantastic subtitles. However when i bought the dvd not only was there a really badly dubbed version, but the subtitles were different with the period characters apparently shouting 'Mom!' at people when they were saying 'mother!'

I never watch dubbed movies movies intentionally, and the cover of the box said "German with yellow English subtitles." But I was shocked SHOCKED to watch the film and find that it was dubbed, and quite badly I might add. This had a very good cast, but the horrible voices of the English-speaking "actors" was a huge distraction and made this film a real groaner for me.

I agree that the dubbing in this film is utter crap, but for some reason every time I watch it I always have it dubbed instead of subbed. That isn't to say that I mind subs, on the contrary I actually love subbed films. But I have always viewed this film with the dubbing and I just would hate to break up a routine.

Just watched 5 minutes of it in English. Terrible dubbing - and I don't mean the synchronisation as I don't really care about that too much. It is simply the quality of the "actors" who were hired to do the dubbing. I presume these people are qualified actors and actresses who are given the the job of dubbing, otherwise anyone could simply read the lines.
Franka Potente is one of my favourite actresses - excellent in the "Bourne" movies - but the person speaking her words in this film should be ashamed of themselves. So should the person whose job it was to pass this "dubbing" work as "acceptable for release".

"I don't understand German and If I wanted to read I would get a book. I saw it in English and I enjoyed it. I don't understand the logic of watching a movie in a language you don't understand. Basically the people that are doing the dubbing are reading the subtitles for you and saving you the trouble of reading so you can focus your attention on the visual aspect of the movie. I have a hunch the people that insist in watching a movie in a foreign language are elitist snobs that want every to know that are better that the unwashed masses that prefer watch something they dont have to read "
So basically what you're saying is you're extremely slow bordering on retarded and have trouble reading. Next time comment on the question at hand and leave your personal junk out of the answer. No one's interested in hearing about you and your troubles getting through life because of your severely retarded brain and how you can't read signs and letters because of a retarded fear of missing out on the visual splendor of some trailer trash backdrop you live in. Either save up some money for a new brain or make due with the broken one you've already got and stop whining.

I never understood why it's so "difficult" to watch a movie and read the words on the screen at the same time.
Neither can I. It's just a thing to get used to. I grew up in Sweden, where thankfully the only things that get dubbed are (normally) kid's cartoons. Everything else is generally subtitled, and that works fine. You get to hear the actors' real voices, which I think gives a much better feel of the story than if it's some completely different actor who does the talking.

Oh shush. I watch regular TV and movies with the closed captioning on and I'm not deaf. I guess I read pretty fast and it doesn't take away from me missing anything visually. I think I understand things better when I know EXACTLY what was said. On IMDB itself you can see where a lot of confusion comes in because someone misunderstood what a character said. And when I'm forced to watch something with someone and there's no closed captioning, there is not one time ever that the other person/people don't ask "What did they say?"
I come from a large family where watching TV in peace wass impossible so closed captioning was necessary if you actually wanted to be able to follow a storyline. Even though I've longed moved out, I stil prefer closed captioning.
I never understood why it's so "difficult" to watch a movie and read the words on the screen at the same time.

Well, dubbing is easy to get used to. You read the subtitles and understand added emotions, questions, uncertainty, etc. in the actors' tone. After watching a movie, looking back on it, it almost seems as if you remember them speaking English.
(From an American who, according to your generalization, should be too lazy to read.)

You know, I wanted to see this movie so bad after finding it on On Demand and then reading about it here - so I watched the dubbed version tonight (Only because I didn't want to wait to netflix the subtitled version). It wasn't that bad of a dubbing job, people! That voice acting wasn't atrocious. I watch Dario Argento films so I have something truly awful to compare this to. The only time I laughed at the dubbing was in the beginning when Paula's grandfather was talking to her. Other than that, it was a bit easier to forget that they weren't really speaking German than I thought it would be. Fun movie. I can't wait to buy the German language version.

Yeah. Dubs suck, especially the one in "Anatomie". I wouldn't reccomend watching ANY foreign movie with a dub. My dad was watching "Stalingrad" and the dubbing was ridiculous. The only dub I've seen that was pretty accurate was "Lola Rennt", but I didn't like it that much because it made the movie sound like it should be on Lifetime.
And the voices didn't fit Franka or Moritz.

I loved this film when I saw it at the cinema (German, Swedish subtitles) so I went and got the VHS when it came out (English, Swedish subtitles) and found it incredibly distracting to see German actors talk about "Munich" and "Haydelburgh" in an American accent instead of "Mnchen" and "Heidelberg". When I got the DVD, I was so relieved I could watch it in its original language with subtitles! And I still think it's a great movie even today!
