I dunno, I disagree with plastic replicas being better We've used both plastic replicas and done dissection on real carcasses and the real ones have been way better I mean, this is meant to teach us anatomy, but also to teach the way around the inside of an actual human body. Come on, students need to see real bodies if they're to be able to perform surgery in the future - we're not gonna have perfect models but real people who, yes, sometimes have weirdly placed muscles or arteries. It would be kinda bad if a student did something wrong just because they thought everyone was exactly the same
And where I'm studying people volountarily donate their bodies for dissection, it's not like the Uni buys them

Plastic replicas are quite good - medical studients (such as myself) has been using it for some years now, only problem is they're are really expensive, so the Universitys have to use real dead ppl - heard around 1500-2000 USD a carcaseThe good thing about them is they're 100% anatomically correct compared to the human carcases - It's true - we all have our little flawsex: small muscles we don't have and some we have 2 of instead of one

The bodies in the movie are not real. They're based on von Hagen's work, but are just plastic copies. At least one of these copies is exhibited in the German Film Museum in Berlin.

Saw it too, and found it very interesting, though a bit morbid. By the way, there was a big scandal because Hagens used the bodies of Russian convicts without their or their families consent. If anybody is an Anti-Hypocrate, then von Hagens is.

I saw Body Works/Worlds on a class trip. Very interesting.
