I never thought about that before. Where I live, it's pretty common for older men to call younger ones 'son' and I think it's even more common down south (hence Levritt's accent). While it could be possible that Levritt was his father given his behavior, I don't think he actually was. If he was Luke's father, Mandrake would have known about that either by Levritt telling him (since they were 'soulmates') or because they spied on each other (hence Mandrake knowing about Levritt's affair with the young chick). I think the father/son secret would have come out in the movie if it was true.
But then again, you can't really know for sure. Sometimes it's left up to the audience to interpret things like that.
That would have been a nice touch thoughperhaps an alternate ending. I'm working on a fanfiction right now for the movie, focusing on Levritt's character (I have a mild obsession with William Petersen). Maybe I could do one where he is the father

I am so glad someone brought this up. This is something my sister and I debated for some time, I think yes he is the father, she says no just a play on words. Who knows what the truth is?

My belief is that the Senator, Ames, is the father of Lucas. When the newly recruited Skulls had their first formal dinner, Ames took an interest of Luke almost in an instant. Futhermore, upon learning that Will's suicide attempt was staged, Luke requests a meeting to "shoot the beep in a shoddy Diner. We are shown that this is somewhere Ames would most likely avoid when he turns his nose up at the coffee. Although appearing irritated, I think he genuinely cared as a father why Luke summoned him, not as a fellow Skull member. As far as the ending quote, "Well done, son. Well done." Ames could have meant "son" as in their significant age difference or as in their relation. I lean more towards the situation that Luke and Ames are father and son.
On a side note, Caleb's father and Ames were Skull soulmates. Caleb and Lucas were Skull soulmates. I believe this was intentional.

i think the senator meant that when luke didnt choose not to return to the skulls, he was congratulating him, i dont think he was his father (can u inherit a western accent??)
